The trend accelerated in 2022

The share of US Treasury holdings in Chinese currency reserves has declined to ~22% from ~37% since 2016, near the lowest in at least 15 years.

At the same time, gold's share has risen ~5 percentage points to an all-time high of 6.8%.

Are we heading into several reserve currencies supported by gold instead of just the US Dollar?

Is the debt-based system near its end?
